I just got back from Thailand and I noticed that a huge thing over there, especially in Chiang Mai is Thai cooking schools. I have never seen that over here in the states but I think it would be a pretty big hit. Well I picked up a lot of recipes over there and I just wanted to gauge people's interest.
Would anyone in the bay area be interested in meeting up to trade recipes and/or cook some awesome food.

Re: Learn to cook Thai
Thu, October 12, 2006 - 11:10 AMThanks for the heads up Ross. I checked out Kasma's website. It has some great sounding recipes on it. My interest in attending her classes would be the WeekLong Intensives. Unfortunately, here 2007 classes are full.
Anyone know of any other quality Thai Intensive Cooking classes offered in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, or Washington. I travel in an RV and have some flexibility. May even consider other states.... -

Re: Learn to cook Thai
Tue, December 19, 2006 - 9:45 PMI can second the recommendation for Kasma's classes. I took a beginning set of classes one year, and the next year took an intermediate set of classes. You'll get a lot out of them, plus they're a lot of fun. You do need to usually sign up way in advance.

Re: Learn to cook Thai
Fri, November 10, 2006 - 9:32 AMthere are a number of great Thai teachers where I teach..www.ramekins.com ...check the catalogue for classes.
I don't teach Thai, because I cant sell the classes, no one wants a farang teaching ethnic thai..funny because I am one of the few chefs in the bay area that actually owned and ran a restaurant in Thailand..go figure....

It was AWESOME and so much easier to learn than I thought. I still make the recipes all the time too. -
